Starting with TSMC, the world's leading semiconductor manufacturing establishment, the rest of the foundries have succumbed to it's widening lead and become increasingly reliant on TSMC for chips. TSMC is mass producing the 5nm chips in Hsinchu, but the 3nm and 2nm facilities are being built in Tainan. The supply chain that TSMC uses and the technology manufacturing industry would be built around these locations.

Why is this important? While the manufacturing location of high-tech products is being moved to India, the companies that own these facilities remain to be these Taiwanese companies. The political climate is unlikely to do a reverse turn in the near future. Once the technology companies abandon China, the effect would not be reversible.
Taichung, at the center of Taiwan is in a unique position to become the hub that would allow foreign business entities to establish an early outpost to make sure you are present and connected in Taiwan. Don't be absent and don't be caught empty-handed in this round of musical chairs.
