The information mentioned above is quite accurate, however, the following are personal additions for your consideration:

• There are many mountainous cycling routes nearby for serious cyclists. There is a very lively cycling club scene here. These clubs go on long cycling sessions ranging from 100~150kms on weekends and some of them are quite advanced cyclists. You would also be able to meet other ex-pats who are in Taichung for the bicycle businesses.
• There are many hiking routes in Dakeng District. More info here: Dakeng Scenic Area
• There is a Taichung Hash House Harriers running club and it is quite active.
• For marathoners, Taiwan is big on running and Marathons were all the rage in the second half of 2010s. There are multiple marathons hosted around Taiwan all year round.
• Expats in Taichung are quite lively on Facebook and the fan pages range from info exchange to job opportunities, to recipe and food info exchange.
• You need a driver's license to operate automobiles and motorcycles with an engine larger than 100cc capacity. There are bicycle rental stations called Youbike nearly everywhere and it is extremely cheap. Electric motorcycles that don't go faster than 25KM do not require a license but it wouldn't go very far. There is a subway system that is going online shortly, but Taichung dwellers are more used to scooters and motorcycles. The local bus system is quite cheap, but the routes are difficult to figure out. Yellow cabs are everywhere, but UBER has largely disappeared.
• For long-distance travel within the island, there are two train systems, a regular slow train and a high-speed railroad. It is not easy to get to the HSR station in Wuri but it is accessible from a regular train. For the price differences, it doesn't make sense for most Taichung dwellers to take the HSR as the time savings does not warrant the extra costs.
• There is also an international airport with direct flights to many cities in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Thailand and Vietnam, but the frequencies are still left wanting. At sea, there is the Port of Taichung. It is mostly for commercial shipments and it is strategically located at the center of Taiwan Strait.

This building is privately built and spared no cost with materials. The metal frame and masonry are both almost double the building code requirements. It is also the official bunker and saft-house for the entire alley's residences.

The room also hosts the entrance to the "cave à vin", an NYU-TIP style lab for incubator purposes. There would be these budding entrepreneurs coming in and out in this lobby. But their area of activity is limited to the 1F Lobby and B1 cave à vin. The restriction applies to our esteemed tenents of "Taiwan Technology Outpost in Taichung" as well. The B1 cave à vin space is off-limit for the protection of their trade secrets.

2E Conference, Magasin

This room is equipped with two large conference desks. They are arranged in a T-shape to maximize the utility of the configuration. In a pinch, it can be set up to host about 12 people with the bar-stool type of chairs. Also, the conference tables are raised high intentionally with this bar-stool type of chair to encourage swift and to-the-point meeting processions.

3A Superintendent, Dexter

Two part-time bi-lingual staff will take turns devote 3 hours a day to the needs of 6 offices.
The hours will be divided by the percentage of square footage relative to all rental space. Their working space and their wages are not charged to your rental fee as extras.
